Happy Birthday Dallin and Allison--February 6

Happy Birthday to Dallin Clark Parkinson.  Today he turns 24.  He is majoring in Exercise Science and loves sports, frisbee, and anatomy.  He would love for someone to bring him some Oreos today.  Happy Birthday Dallin!

Allison Tanner is turning 21 today!  She is majoring in Civil Engineering (no, she isn't weird).  She loves skiing at Snowbird, eating chocolate chip cookies, and pink. An embarrassing moment for Allison occurred when she ran a RED LIGHT in Las Vegas on THE STRIP. All those in the car almost died. Apparently that is very unlike Allison though because she is usually very responsible and level-headed. She just wasn't paying attention.  Happy Birthday Allison!

Happy Birthday Ryan, Janae, and Alise--February 2

Today we celebrate the birthday of Ryan Joseph Deuel !!  He is going into firefighting and works with a roofing company. He plays the guitar, loves photography, and plays hockey. He is from Torrance CA.  Happy Birthday Ryan!

Alise Burgess is also currently having a birthday.  She is from West Jordan, Utah and studying Elementary Education.  She loves the Hunger Games, What Not to wear, The Office and Legally Blonde.  Happy Birthday Alise!

Janae Kirkendall turned 22 today.  She is a psychology major and has many interests including: boys, dating, dancing with boys, cuddling, eating out with boys, watching movies with cute boys in it, serenading boys on her guitar, singing to boys, talking... About boys.  She loves twix and homemade cookies.  She's pretty much the coolest, funniest, happiest, most positive, friendliest most caring person ever! She's someone you have to add on ur bucket list of people to meet (AND DATE) before you die. And she will make people super good cookies! Happy Birthday Janae!

Service love is in the air!

Fall has official been underway for some time now, causing leaves to fall and hearts to soar. Service dates have really been picking up, as a few couples have even spent their time together browsing expensive jewelery.
One of the more attractive couples, pictured above, was curtis and katie. They donned their swimming suits and hit the pool for a fun filled day of swim lessons. I am happy to report that they were successful in not letting a single child drown.
Service has always been a big part of david's (23, from northern virgina) and mallory's (occupation unknown) lives. From a young age, both had aspired to one day lead a shift at the deseret industries. That dream came true for them because of the service dates program. For one hour on a saturday afternoon, david and mallory got into the zone, the service zone that is, and unloaded donations to be sold.

Trace Farmer and Megan Fogg: the quintessential american couple. You know how the story goes, boy meets girl, girl falls hard, boy tries to resist, but all is futile. Next thing you know, they are off together giving manicures to retirees at Jamestown, followed by an afternoon of getting a free shirt from the jewelery store. Yes, that should be a movie.

Service committee takes early lead for committee of the semester sweepstakes

In a recent poll, the service council has jumped out to a commanding lead for the prestigious council of the semester award, previously held by the activities council. "We just want everyone to realize that the ward theme can apply to them and to discover that through losing themselves in service," says Todd Wilde, one of the council co-chairs. Well sometimes while losing yourself, you find someone who can make your life even better! A recent service council initiative know as "service dates" (not to be confused with pity dates) has really made a huge impact on a couple of lives.

Randy Gilliland and Krista Ahlstrom came together for a friday evening of flirty box decorating. Project uplift is a program designed to brighten the holidays for those men and women selflessly giving of themselves to serve in the armed forces. The cute couple decorated the packages that will be sent across the seas to these service men and women. The response was enthusiastically positive. If anyone wants to participate in project uplift just make a stop at the Y serve office in the wilkinson center.

WARD CHOIR

Hello fellow BYU 236th Wardies,

In behalf of the Music Council and the Ward Choir, we need your help! The choir is having its first performance this Sunday in Sacrament Meeting and we only had about a dozen peeps show up for practice last time!

So, all of you who have ever come to practice... and anyone else that has a voice and can read and stuff... please come to our "emergency practice" this Sunday at 11:00 AM. We'll meet on the main floor of the SWKT and find an empty room, hopefully on that floor, to practice in before Priesthood/Relief Society starts. We'll be singing "Our Savior's Love" and it's going to be beautiful! So please, be part of this experience!

If you have any questions, or if you come to practice but for some reason can't find us, just call Ariel Thexton, Catherine Curtis, or myself (480-290-9967). Also, you can call if you want to arrange a wake up call to remind you to come on Sunday morning, or if you think you'll need some sort of edible incentive to motivate you to come. Thank you!

Musically yours,

Daniel Mooney
