This week

Hey Ward,
Are guys still named "ward" ever? Do people often say "ward" has moved into the ward? I wonder... Anyways, the activities committee did it again and pulled off yet another awesome activity. Now our apartments are filled with dying goldfish, my apt is 2 for 2 in killing fish. I've learned that I should never own a pet...ever. So this week we've got good old Institute, so you should all attend that. I believe there is Manrichment this Saturday sometime, and the ever-popular Relief Society Sleep Over this Friday around 9 or so. It was awesome last semester and I'm sure this one will not disappoint, so everyone should come to either of those. Make sure to get your visiting/ home teaching done and let's all pray for better weather. Oh, and keep up with the scripture studying and don't forget to have family council, aka when you get together and talk with your roommates/scriptures. As always if you want something on the blog or email let us know. Like a good neighbor, publicity is there. Or is it state farm? Have a good week.

The Happenings of this week

Hey Ward-

So it's completely freezing outside...what a great state we live in. This week be sure to check out Institute on either Tuesday or Wednesday, it's always a fun and spiritually uplifting time. Also, make sure to attend Thirsty Thursday at OA 406 for smoothies and The Office...it's the greatest combination since cookies and milk. Other reminders are to do your home/visiting teaching and to keep up on the Ward Scripture Study. Oh, and don't forget to cheer on BYU as they go to the Mountain West Tournament, it's going to be great (hopefully).

All right, so in other news how many of you feel a tad bit like this when you're searching for a job?

I know I have. The church has an objective to help BYU students learn what is necessary to get better jobs, internships, scholarships and graduate school acceptance. It wishes to motivate them to develop the skills necessary to enhance their careers after graduation and if possible, to earn some of the money needed to put themselves through school. Sister Forstrom and I have been called as employment missionaries to design and manage a program, with your help, to accomplish this goal.

We are working with your stake high councilman responsible for employment to distribute information to you that you can pass on to members of your ward. A newsletter (first issue attached to this email) will be emailed mid-week to you and a blog has been developed located at http://byucareer.blogspot.com/ (this link is clickable) that your members can view anytime. The blog will be continually updated and will include employment news and a calendar of workshops presented by the BYU career centers.

So fellow job searches, be sure to check out this sweet link. That's all I have for now. I'm sure there's loads of things I forgot to write and if you have an announcement be sure to email one of the publicity council or the ward email. Thanks, have a splendid week/weekend.
